Silver Spire: Tune 23 of 52

Now that I’m fully vaccinated and more and more people are on their way, I’m excited to start playing music in person again. It has not been an easy journey playing solo for the last 23+ weeks and it has definitely taken some discipline to keep up the practice.

What I’ve learned most throughout this whole process, aside from the 23 tunes so far, is that discipline comes in many forms. I started this journey to force myself to be disciplined to practice and learn tunes. There are days where I practice with full force uninterrupted and I can feel myself improving. There are other days where it is so hard to just pick up the fiddle. There are days where it’s easy to learn a tune and other’s where I can’t even remember how to play. And all of it is ok. The key is to just keep going.

The silver lining to this whole pandemic, is that it has forced us to do just that – keep going. It forced us to be a little more creative in everything we do. More creative in how we work, how we get together with family and friends, and how we share our music. I’m excited at the prospect of playing with you and for you in person.

This week’s tune is a great reel called The Silver Spire. I hope you enjoy:
