Fall has arrived in Vermont and though the leaves are breathtakingly beautiful this time of year, it’s always hard to transition into shorter days. Luckily I have my fiddle to get me through.
This fall I’ve enrolled in another Irish music class with Vermont School of Irish Traditional Music to hone my Irish music skills and add a few more tunes to my repertoire.
We got our first tune to learn this weekend and it’s composed by one of my favorite Irish fiddlers and composers, Liz Carroll. Coincidentally, I also subscribe to Liz’s patreon page where she talks about the nitty gritty of playing, shares her tunes and stories, and music for upcoming projects. I highly recommend supporting your favorite artist on patreon.
Though I haven’t written on my blog in a while, nor have I had a steady practice schedule, now that fall has arrived and class is in session, I look forward to sharing with you what I learn.
