Get your groove on

Andrea Beaton

Dancing has always come easy to me. As a child I took ballet, tap and jazz and couldn’t get enough of moving my body to various types of music. As I got older, disco became my jam. I’m pretty sure Abba wrote a song about me. You may know it – Dancing Queen.

Now that I’m an adult however, coordination seems to have escaped me and step, ball, change sounds more like a cocktail than a tap-dancing move. Luckily, there are experts like Andrea Beaton that occasionally make their way to the Green Mountain State to teach us how to get our groove back and have a little fun in the process.

Andrea Beaton is a Cape Breton fiddler and dancer who comes from a long line of musicians, composers and dancers. Let’s just say, music is literally in her blood. She’s an award-winning musician, and tours and teaches internationally both fiddle and step dancing.

So if you’re tired of just tapping your toes at concerts and really want to get into the groove, you’re in luck.
