What do burgers and pancakes have in common? Combine the deliciousness of sweet or savory pancakes at The Skinny Pancake with the hearty music of folk singer and fiddler, Lissa Schneckenburger and you have one good night on the town.
I was first introduced to Lissa many years ago when she opened up for Darol Anger and Mike Marshall at the Flynn Space in Burlington. What a show that was. I had never heard of this fiddler/folk singer, and was highly impressed by her performance. She played solo that night with just her voice and her violin and knocked the socks off the audience.
First off I’m always impressed when fiddlers have the courage to perform solo but she’s a brilliant singer as well and can play and sing at the same time. That alone is impressive to me seeing as I can barely even lift my foot at at session to let other musicians know I’m changing tunes, let alone sing a song in the process.
Originally from Maine and now residing in Vermont, Lissa’s repertoire consists of traditional New England folk music.
She has a beautiful voice and her playing is sprightly and uplifting.
So if you’re hungry for some good music come down to the The Skinny Pancake this Thursday, February 24 from 8-10pm.
Hope to see you there.
